Sail Inn on James St, today announced that it has been identified as a Best of Queensland Experience. The Best of Queensland Experiences Program is an innovative program that guides the Queensland tourism industry to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The program has been developed by Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), in partnership with Capricorn Enterprise, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) and the Department of Innovation and Tourism Industry Development. It identifies and recognises experiences that best bring the Queensland story to life and consistently deliver a high-quality visitor experience.

Bob and Lisa Lilleboe purchased the Sail Inn in November 2016 and since then the business has continued to grow. Receiving a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence last May and recently nominated in the 2019 Capricorn Coast Best in Business Awards. Their son, Pat Lilleboe has been managing the motel and was accepted into the 2018 QTIC Young Professionals Mentoring Program where he gained guidance from local industry heavyweight, Grant Cassidy of the Cassidy Hospitality group. The Lilleboe’s are new to the accommodation industry but have quick made a name for themselves in our local tourism market.

Tourism products identified as a Best of Queensland Experience, that demonstrate their ability to deliver a high-quality visitor experience, will have the opportunity for inclusion in future TEQ marketing activities.  This is an incredible opportunity for our operators in smaller regions to feature alongside operators in more established tourism destinations around the state. – Mary Carroll, CEO Capricorn Enterprise.

The Best of Queensland Experiences program is based on an independent set of criteria that incorporates online customer reviews, responds to consumer expectations and reflects industry best practice. All operators in the program receive a personalised bench-marking report, allowing them to celebrate their successes and continually deliver exceptional experiences. Best of Queensland Experiences will receive prioritisation across all Tourism and Events Queensland marketing and activity including on Queensland.com.

This is a huge accomplishment for one of our locally owned, family run establishments.
